Michael C Glynn

GLYNN, MICHAEL C., a life-long resident of Hamden, passed away at home on June 24, 2014 with family members by his side. He was the beloved husband of Mary (Schreck) Glynn and loving father of Corey and Elizabeth Glynn. Michael was born on December 21, 1958, the son of the late Francis and Dorothy (Dinnean) Glynn. He is survived by his brothers Richard (Mary) Glynn of Branford and Mark (Kathleen) Glynn of Madison and their children and grandchildren.. Michael was predeceased by his mother-in-law Eileen (Canning) Schreck and brother-in-law Robert (Stacy) Schreck. Survived by his father-in-law Robert Schreck and sisters-in-law Margaret (Robert) Gilhuly of Madison and Eileen Schreck (Kenneth Mathews) of Hamden. Michael also is survived by brothers-in-law James (Diann) Schreck of Westbrook, Thomas Schreck of Chicago, Peter Schreck (Denise Lesvesque) of Madison and Joseph (Sheila) Schreck of Hamden as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. Michael owned and operated a General Contracting business D.I.R. specializing in Fire Restoration prior to becoming a Public Adjuster. For the last 19 years working at Apicella Adjusters in Orange, Michael earned the highest respect and had an impeccable reputation. Michael’s life was full of family and friends, including the Owens, Reynolds, and Dinneans. He never missed his son’s hockey or his daughter’s soccer games. With his wife Mary, he would attend every game, play, or event of his many nieces and nephews - whether hockey, basketball, soccer, swimming, football – he supported and helped with them all. Growing up, Michael enjoyed summers with his family at Lanphier’s Cove in Branford. His passion was boating on Long Island Sound with family and friends. In recent years, he was an ardent supporter of Quinnipiac University’s hockey team and their home was always open. Michael was a supporter of St. Francis, St. Rita, Hamden Youth athletics, Closer to Free, and many other great charitable organizations. He was an active member of the Looking Forward Council at Smilow, Farmington Canal Board, and Hamden Youth hockey. The family sincerely appreciated all the love and support provided by Smilow Cancer Hospital. He was a communicant at St. Rita’s Church in Hamden. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. Rita Church, 1620 Whitney Avenue, Hamden. Friends and family are asked to go directly to St Rita Church on Saturday morning. Burial to follow in All Saints Cemetery in North Haven. Calling hours are Friday from 4 – 8 p.m. at Sisk Brothers Funeral Home, 3105 Whitney Avenue, Hamden.
