Michael Scardera

Michael Scardera, 86 of Hamden passed away on Saturday, September 18, 2021 in his home. He is survived by his wife, Georgette (Boilard) Scardera and his four children, Michael (Maria) Scardera, Katherine (John) Busca, Maria (John) Matsco and Mark (Kathleen) Scardera, his brother, John Scardera of Cranston, RI and his 10 loving grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Michael was born May 11, 1935 in Providence, RI, the son of the late John and Anna (Caporicci) Scardera. Michael received his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Brown University and his Masters in Business Administration from the University of Bridgeport. He had a long and successful career as a research chemist for Olin Corporation. Michael had a great sense of humor. He was a New York Yankees fan who enjoyed spending time with his family. An avid stamp collector, he was a Lifetime member of the American Philatelic Society. Michael will be missed. His family takes comfort in knowing he is at rest. Services will be held at Sisk Brothers Funeral Home, 3105 Whitney Avenue, Hamden, Saturday, September 25, 2021 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
