Mary Alice Reynolds

May 26, 1924 - July 30, 2017

Mary Alice “Mimi” Reynolds died July 30, 2017. She was born on May 26, 1924 in Edergole, Cloone, County Leitrim, Ireland, the daughter of the late Francis and Alice Reynolds McGowan. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 41 years, John Francis Reynolds. Mimi is survived by her daughter, Patricia Reynolds Pietrosimone, her son-in-law, Frank, her grandchildren, Brian Pietrosimone and his fiancée Laura Stanley, Kathryn Pietrosimone, and her husband Andrew Buckley, her nephew, John Fitzmaurice, and his wife, Christine, and her grandnephews, Patrick and Stephen. Mary was a resident of West Haven for 50 years and Hamden for the last 11 years. Mary was employed by the West Haven Board of Education for 30 years. She worked most of her years at West Haven High School as a hall monitor where she was affectionately known as the “Pink Lady”. Mary was a communicant of St. Lawrence Church, West Haven, and St. Joan of Arc Church, Hamden. She was a member of the New Haven Gaelic Football and Hurling Club, Irish American Community Center, Pioneers of the Sacred Heart, West Haven Irish American Club and the St. Therese Guild of St Lawrence Church. Mary was predeceased by her sisters, Rose Fitzmaurice and Ellen Quinn, and her brother, Patrick McGowan. The family would like to thank Hamden Health Care Center and Benchmark Senior Living, of Hamden, and all their employees for the loving care that they gave Mary when she resided with them. In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations in her honor be made to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 Friends are requested to go directly to St. Joan of Arc Church, 450 West Todd St., Hamden for a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday at 10:00AM. Burial will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday from 4:00 - 8:00 pm at Sisk Brothers Funeral Home, 3105 Whitney Ave., Hamden. www.siskbrothers.com
