Marion Hoefler Hayes, beloved mother, grandmother, aunt and friend died peacefully on December 29th. Cherished daughter of Edward and Anne Manion Hoefler, Marion was born on October 26, 1925 in New Haven. A long time resident of Hamden, she was the wife of the late William F. Hayes, Jr., whom she met at the 1945 Yale Harvard football game and married in 1950. Marion was predeceased by her brother Donald E. Hoefler. She is survived by four daughters, Maribeth Hayes (Paul Dumraese), of Milford, Jerilynn Hayes of Branford, Adriane Beller (Peter) of Old Wethersfield and Daria Swanton (Ken) of Harvard, Ma. Marion’s six grandchildren, Ned, Jake, Will (Sarah), Hannah Beller, Drew and Emily Simard were a source of continuous joy. Marion’s faith, family and friends were most important in her life and she was willing to help when others were in need. She accepted life as it came and will be remembered for being thankful for all the many blessings in her long life. A Mass of Christian Burial was Celebrated at St. Rita Church, with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery. Sisk Brothers Funeral Home 3105 Whitney Ave. Hamden was in care of arrangements.
