John Joseph Berger Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

John Joseph Berger, 70, of Branford and Hamden died peacefully, Jan. 22,2016 at the Branford Hills Health Care Center. He was born Dec. 6,1945 in New Haven a son of the late Edward and Alice Burns Berger Sr., was a graduate of Hamden High School and had attended Stone College and North Western Community College. John enjoyed dancing, antique collecting and decorating his beloved Glemby St. house. Many people will remember him as the Maitre d' at the former Palms restaurants and from Gatsby Night Club.. He is survived by a brother Edward Berger Jr. of Hamden, his sisters Anne Cerrone of Branford, Mary Ellen Reynolds and husband John of Hamden and Patrice DeFilippo and husband Allan of Branford and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother in law Joseph Cerrone. John's family would like to acknowledge the kindness of his devoted friend and caregiver, Beckee Kirpas and her son Jake of Seymour, the staff and residents of Branford Hills Health Care Center , the staff of CT Hospice Homecare and all those who helped enrich his quality of life. A Celebration of John's life will be held Saturday , March 12th at 11:00 am in Sisk Brothers Funeral Home, 3105 Whitney Ave., Hamden.
