February 3, 1930 - May 3, 2016

At her home May 3, 2016 Ann Molloy Vining 86, of Hamden. Wife of the late Russell E. Vining. Loving mother of Christy Vining Russell (Dennis) of Southington, Peter Vining (Mary) of Stratford, Thomas Vining of Hamden, Phyllis Vining of Hamden, Andrew Vining of New Haven and Judi Vining of Stamford, sister of Margaret (Midge) Molloy Fitch of Hamden, MaryJane (Jane) Molloy Cannon of Hamden and Peter S. Molloy, Jr. of Bridgeport. Also survived by her grandchildren Colleen Russell Guertin (David) of S. Windsor, Aaron Russell (Shreya) of Seattle, Michael Russell of Farmington, Michael Slimak Vining of Stratford and great grandchildren Caylee and Graham Guertin of S. Windsor and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister Phyllis Molloy, a brother Richard Molloy and her grandson Kevin Vining. Ann was born in New Haven February 3, 1930, daughter of the late Gertrude (Wallace) and Peter S. Molloy, Sr. Mrs. Vining graduated from Hillhouse High School in 1947. Following high school, Ann attended Hartt School of Music, Hartford and Larson Business College. Prior to her marriage, she worked at New Haven Savings Bank and New Haven Tobacco Co, both in New Haven. For over 20 years, she owned and operated Vining's Package Store and Vining's This 'n That Shoppe with her husband in Hamden. After they closed their business, she continued working, first at Centerville Card and Candy then Stop & Shop both in Hamden. Ann loved traveling. She traveled around the world with her daughters, Phyllis and Judi. Ann loved music and was known for her beautiful voice. Funeral from Sisk Brothers Funeral Home 3105 Whitney Ave. Hamden, Monday at 9:30 a.m., Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery.
