Karly Elizabeth Mossberg

Karly Elizabeth Mossberg was born on October 13, 1987 in New Haven Connecticut. She unexpectedly passed away on September 10, 2023 in St. Petersburg, FL. She is survived by her father Alan Iver Mossberg Jr., her mother, Lori Mossberg (Ostuno), her sisters, Tara and Alanna, her grandmother, Helen LaRock (Miller/Ostuno), her aunts, uncles, cousins, and as important; her two cats, Moose and Fuller. Karly is predeceased by her grandparents, Alan and Jayne Mossberg and her grandfather, Dominic Ostuno. Karly was creative, thoughtful, intelligent, clever, and tenacious. She was best known for her love of cooking, reading, design, and travel. From an early age, she was a voracious reader and loved to write colorful stories. When she was young, one of her favorite pastimes was to create and construct an elaborate “Barbie town” with her little sister, Alanna. Her creativity flowed in each and every aspect she put her mind to. Throughout her years, Karly continued to excel in art design. She spent her college years at the University of San Francisco, transferred and graduated from the San Francisco Art Institute. She resided in San Francisco for an additional three years to establish her career. Taking a risk, she moved to New York City to further develop her career in art design and excelled as a creative art director for many high fashion design agencies. Most recently, she was employed as Director of Digital Creative for Wella Company and designing campaigns for OPI. Traveling could easily be named as one of her favorite hobbies. She has traveled throughout the world for her career, and also for personal curiosity and growth with family and friends. She has left many of us with a multitude of fantastic memories traveling to the Caribbean, Central America, Europe, countries of Asia, Iceland and Scandinavia. Karly was very close to both her family and friends. Whether she was living near or far, she would always give her Grandma Helen a call to tell her “love you more.” Spending time cooking with her dad, traveling with her mom, and doing dinner, self care, and movies with Tara and Alanna were all times she loved and valued. Karly truly had a gift of always caring for and nurturing others. She consistently put others before herself whether it be her family, close friends, or coworkers. She created strong bonds of love and friendship. Wewill continue to see and feel Karly in our day-to-day lives; in her favorite cuisines, her artistic designs, funny videos, photos, and with her cats. Her legendary meals and “famous” charcuterie boards will never be duplicated. Karly will forever be remembered for her irresistible charm, brilliant smile, infectious humor, and her unwavering generosity towards others. She will forever be missed and loved by her family and those who were fortunate enough to have known her. A memorial service for Karly will be held on September 29, 2023 at Sisk Brothers Funeral Home, 3105 Whitney Ave, Hamden, CT 06518. In lieu of flowers contributions to MHCONN.org
